The Dog Show

The launch of our neutering campaign was a great success in spite of the heat. The dog show doggies were great and all well behaved except for mine!! I do believe we had a complete 50/50 mix of English and Spanish, which was exactly what we wanted. The atmosphere was brilliant and Debbie Slater's vocals had everyone captivated and we are very grateful to her for coming (a long way) and giving her time free to the cause. Many thanks go to Debbie and her mum Mandy Slater, one of our great members who regularly does a lot to support ACTIN. Watch out for Debbie as I think we will be hearing more about her in the future!

The T-Shirt stall at the ACTIN Neutering Campaign Dog ShowWe raised 500 Euros from sales of the T-shirts, from donations from other stall sellers. Not bad for our first event! Money was also raised from the massage therapist and we thank everyone who helped and supported us. The raffle first prize was donated by the Mariposa Hotel in the Sierra Espuna – a night for 2 people including dinner, accommodation and breakfast plus a quad bike tour, and this was won by Margaret Wallace, who donated all the doggy prizes gifts for the dog show, so we were very pleased, she really deserved it.

Thank you to Colin Aubrey Thackwell, for judging the dog show for us and making some great choices. So many people helped out, Lesley Anderson did a grand job selling and promoting our T-shirts for the campaign. Thank you Margaret Wallace, who donated the doggy prizes and a great raffle prize; Second hand Rose made beautiful doggy related gifts, bags and cushions and donated 15% to the cause plus she donated some lovely prizes to the raffle - a very talented lady; Pamela Batchelor Frisch, who has been using her wood craft talent to make some great doggy pieces. We will be following with photos of these goodies, as they are really unique and special. Chris Clark for helping with the raffle; Lynne Lickfold, for the skills auction, Buddies Rescue Buddies, for their help in making it fun and their donation; Susan Clarke-Francis for her amazingly accurate readings and her donation; to Corrine Ansems - (I highly recommend her therapies) - for her work and for donating ALL her proceeds and for her help and support; for all those that donated to the raffle, our first prize donator, Mark of the Maroposa Hotel and all of the other people who gave us great prizes. Richard Berelson for the campaign designs on the T-shirts and for our logo of course, brilliant; Matt and Alan, for coming along supporting with their beautiful art and crafts and donation.

So a big thank you to everyone who helped, who donated, bought a T- Shirt; to all the doggies that came and all so very special, lots of rescued ones with such stories to tell, if only they could speak. And lastly to Nerim Niram (Maria Nerim) for being there and our collaboration together, for the very important cause, please wish us luck, as we have a lot of work to do... Thank you all x
