Actin still have many dogs under their care waiting to be rehomed and we rely on our supporters to make donations or raise funds to help us pay for their care, which includes vet treatment, kennels and food.

coffee-morning-posterActin are very grateful this month to three of our special supporters who have raised much needed funds for our animals. Kate Goodman, who is also our adoptions co-ordinator, held a coffee morning in France at the beginning of February. This event was used to raise awareness for Actin and our legal work in Spain to help the animals, as well as showing the dogs available for adoption who are under Actin's care and need sponsors. There was a raffle, cake and craft stalls and it was a very successful morning raising an amazing €270 for Actin's dogs. Thank you Kate.

You can see the dogs that Actin currently have available for adoption or our website Adopt a Spanish Rescue Dog.

Angie Marshall is another of Actin's supporters who regularly fund raises to help us pay the vets bills for our dogs. If you are local to the Mazarrón area you may have come across Angie with her stall of second hand and nearly new clothes, shoes and accessories. She also has a facebook page which lists all the clothes and shoes she is currently selling in aid of Actin and if you are not local to the area you can visit her facebook page Angie4Animals is Actin and she can also arrange delivery. Thank you so much Angie, your regular donations really help us stay on top of the vets bills.

angies-2-booksYou may recognise the name Angie McCready as she is author of two books: Casa McCready's Madhouse, and "It's Just What I Do" - Casa McCready's Madhouse Take Two. She is also a big supporter of Actin and all the commissions she earns from her two books she is donating to Actin. Angie is a fantastic, hard working foster carer for dogs and their puppies that have been abandoned. She has saved and helped many dogs recover, grow up, and move to their own forever families. As an animal rescuer she has a special insight into the plight of animals in Spain, and we are privileged that she has chosen to help Actin's pursuit of legal change towards animal welfare in Spain. Her books about the life of an animal rescuer make hilarious reading, and are highly recommended. Actin would like to thank Angie for donating all the funds raised from her two books to us, for February she has sent us a fantastic €100.

Finally we would like to say a big thank you to all our members who are making a regular donation with their membership fee which is helping us care for the dogs, or fund our legal cases if they are Lawyer Sponsor members. We would not be where we are today without your continued support and donations. We would also like to thank those of you who see our posts on facebook or read the news on our website and make a donation to a particular animal or fund as a one off donation. Responding to our calls for donations to help enable us to continue doing what we do, helping our dogs and above all providing support for our projects including the first Animal Welfare Conference held in 2015, and our Lawyer's education courses on Animal Welfare Law for the Town Halls, Police and Seprona.

Please continue to support our work throughout 2016, you can send donations via paypal to donations@actin-spain.com, or use any of the donate buttons on our website. THANK YOU!
