Actin is very proud of their lawyer, Raquel of DeAnimals. This official course on animal welfare law was held in Valencia on 16th December 2015. There were 70 delegates in attendance, they included lawyers, Police and Seprona.
Raquel has studied animal welfare law for 3 years now and has become a specialist lawyer on the subject. After Actin's recent case in Valencia - ongoing, it was discovered how very little the authorities understood about animal welfare law. Raquel is now holding workshops all over Spain to improve this and teach the authorities about the importance of taking animal welfare seriously and filing complaints in the correct way. The culture of animals being of little importance in Spain has made it difficult to prove cruelty and other crimes against animals. This is changing and we hope Spain will evolve into a society that starts to protect animals as sentient beings. There is a long way to go yet but Raquel is proving to be one of Spain's biggest advocates to effect change for animals in Spain.
Actin would like to sponsor some of the places on her courses to allow more police offers to attend, it costs 80.00€ per person for a place on the course, for the police or Seprona, who have to fund the courses themselves. The next course is on 23rd January 2016 in Murcia. If you would like to make a donation towards a place on this course at 80,00€, or even a small donation towards the cost (10€, 20€, 30€ etc) our lawyer will provide an invoice to prove that all is legal and provide an update with photos via personal email to you during the month after. You can donate towards these animal welfare courses and help us to sponsor the places by making a donation via paypal to email@example.com and mark it for 'Animal Welfare Course fund'. You can also use any donate button on our website and add a note that it is for Raquel's courses. Alternatively by joining as a member on Actin's website, your small subscription assists projects such as these.
