Actin has some exciting news. I, Vivienne Wharton and Nicki Hastings (vice president) have worked so well together over the last few years, that we now find Actin is ready for the next stage in its development. My vision and plans for the work that Actin would do have come to fruition in so many ways, some were unexpected but secretly hoped for.
Changes are happening in the animal welfare world everywhere, I am sure many have seen this and the hope that it instills in us all for the better development of animal welfare in Spain is inspiring.
The successful PAES conference last year, which will take place again this year, the support and the collaboration with DeAnimals lawyer and the authorities have all been great achievements. It is a reminder that in spite of some uphill struggles when things don't always go the way they were planned, that with determination, integrity, collaboration and support, the seemingly impossible can be achieved.
So now a positive and exciting change for Actin is planned. I will step back and let Nicki take on the new challenges planned and a move of Actin's base to where this years conference will be held. I now have new projects to attend to and will leave Actin in the capable hands of Nicki and Actin's supporters.
Message from Nicki Hastings:-
On behalf of Actin and our members I would like to thank Viv for all the very hard work she has put into Actin over the years. I'm sure you will agree that Actin has achieved some great successes, and a well deserved good reputation in Animal Welfare which is all down to her work. I look forward to moving Actin forward and developing the PAES project which aims to bring authorities, associations and animal lovers together in order to make a bigger impact on animal welfare issues. Actin's lawyer is making big waves for animal welfare on the legal side and we aim to offer her support and funds to continue her work. I hope you will continue to give Actin your support, and that we can go from strength to strength. I believe it is very important to support those in authority who are striving to make changes for the animals, so please consider sponsoring a policeman on a course, or becoming a lawyer sponsor member to help us fund these initiatives. Thank you.
